With the ELinOS development kit, Linux can be used with an embedded system. |
| • |
The development kit makes generating memory-saving applications a breeze and includes the tools & support to enable Linux usage on a minimized system. |
| • |
The graphical Embedded Linux Konfigurator (ELK) allows the user to configure sophisticated functions such as networks and Web servers by simply selecting them from the menu. |
| • |
The software can also support special hardware environments (no bootdisk) of embedded systems by using the boot strategies. |
| • |
Real time tasks can also be controlled in a Linux environment via the RTAI (Real Time Application Interface) kernel extension.
|
| • |
FLS also offers professional service, training and project support. |

ELinOS is an embedded Linux distribution which packages together a configurator (ELK), an integrated development environment (CODEO), and a software target analyzer (COGNITO) required for the development of embedded devices. In addition, both carrier grade and real time (RTAI/Xenomai) extensions can be set inside the configurator so that embedded device-responsive extensions can be carried out. ELinOS provides a development environment which paves the way for the efficient development of embedded Linux systems and applications. |

| ELinOS Development Tools |
| |
| • ELK (project configuration tool) |
| This is a graphical user interface for use in the creation of boot images integrating kernels and system software. |
 |
| • CODEO (Eclipse-based integrated development environment) |
| CODEO includes the ELinOS Cross tool chain, the ProjectBuilder, Target Remote Debugging support and Target View as well as Plug-ins for Target Control and Target Communication. |
 |
| • COGNITO (online target browser) |
A graphical system browser for the analysis of system's runtime behavior. It includes functions for collecting, storing and displaying parameters for memory and system load as well as modules covering processes and system objects. Response and scheduling delays can also be measured. |
